Audrey Lavigne
Belo Brescia: "My First Book Was Published In 1997, And I Have Published 60 Books Since Then."
1. Can you start by telling me a little bit about yourself? My name is Belo Lionel Brescia and I was born in Tanzania. I lived most of my life in East Africa but I am currently residing at Anse Lazio, Praslin, Seychelles. I have also travelled quite a bit around the world.
Since I was a kid, I have always loved books and I have read many books of all genres. 2. When did you first realize that you wanted to be an author and when did you publish your first book? How many books have you published so far? My mother inspired me to write my first book as she was born in Kenya and lived through the MauMau uprising, but it was Dr. Jane Goodall, a family friend who encouraged me to keep on writing.
My first book was published in 1997 and I have published sixty books so far.
3. Where do you get your inspiration from and can you tell me about your writing schedule? Like how many hours per day do you spend on your books?
Seeing the world through different eyes throughout my travels inspired me to write. I spend two three hours, four times a day writing, starting early in the morning but not necessarily at the same hour every day.
4. Can you tell me a little bit about your books? What do you intend to achieve through your books and where can people purchase them? I write Biographies, Adventure Novels, Science Fictions, Thrillers, and Novels for a younger audience, as well as Dictionaries, Songs, and personal books.
I simply enjoy writing and it is a passion that brings happiness to my life. It passes the time and whatever comes out of it it's a bonus.
My books are available on amazon.com and other books sites. 5. What do you like to do when you are not writing? When I'm not writing I go for a swim or for long walks. What I really like to do is watch wild animals and sketch them. I do some paintings and art work as well. I guess art runs through my blood. 6. What have you learnt in creating your books so far? The mind is unlimited with ideas.. It's a crime to bottle it all up. 7. What advice would you give to other authors? Don't worry about perfection and let the professionals deal with it, but never stop writing. If you have an idea, put it down on paper or else it will fade away. And don't let anyone tell you that you cannot reach your goals in life. Believe in yourself. 8. Do you provide other services to help other authors? I try to give good advice when I can, Because most people think that it's impossible to write a book and this is a miss-conception . 9. How do you market your books? The competition out there is huge.
I use the internet to market my books through social medias and online bookstores. 10. What are your plans for the future? Do you have more publications on the way? I have so many ideas to put down on paper and I don't see this going away anytime soon. Someone will have to finish my work when I'm over the hill.
