Brittany Plumeri: "All of my books are geared towards teaching empathy in a fun way."

1. Can you start by telling me a little bit about yourself?

I’m an elementary school teacher and a toddler / newborn mama. 2. When did you first realize that you wanted to be an author and when did you publish your first book?

It was my students who sparked my first story the Merzzlings. I wanted to explain the importance of being kind in a fun new way. How many books you have published so far? I have now written 4 books with many more on the way.

3. Where do you get your inspiration from and can you tell me about your writing schedule? Like how many hours per day do you spend on your books?

My focus lately has been my interactive toddler series. I spend time daily using my techniques on my son to see what works and what doesn’t. I’ve been dedicating at least an hour a day to becoming a better author whether It be marketing, engagement or writing.

4.Can you tell me a little bit about your books?

All of my books are geared towards teaching empathy. The Merzzling series teaches kindness and stepping into someone else’s shoes. My interactive toddler series the Mine Monster Lab series. Is a fun, interactive twist on teaching positive behaviors in toddlers. While my perfect lullaby book was written when I first had my son. What do you intend to achieve through your books and where can people purchase them?

I intend to teach empathy in a fun way.

You can purchase the books on Amazon!

5. What do you like to do when you are not writing?

I love spending time with my family and making memories.

6. What have you learnt in creating your books so far?

Better question is what haven’t I learned. In the past two years I have read and took countless courses in trying to make my business successful.

7. What advice would you give to other authors?

Don’t get discouraged. It’s not easy. This is a full time job, but if it something you truly want. Don’t give up.

8.Do you provide other services to help other authors?

Recently I started an Author Coaching Business with my friend Vicky Weber through the business (The At Home Author) https://www.athomeauthor.com/ .

We provide one on one coaching along with tons of great courses you can take at your own pace. We just added Chelsea Toretto who has now shared countless courses to help with writing/editing a children’s book.

9.How do you market your books?

Marketing has been something that I play on every angle. I contact influencers. Cold call stores. But spend a lot of time on Ads.

10. What are your plans for the future? Do you have more publications on the way?

Absolutely. My toddler series has only just begun. I’m also starting to write middle aged books, and I am excited for what the future holds and to continue to get my name out there.
